**Author Peek** Interview with J. Morgan

**AUTHOR PEEK** Interview with J. MORGAN

Before we get started talking about your writing, tell us a little about yourself, where you’re from, what you do for a living (if you’re not a full-time writer) what hobbies you have, etc. Whatever you’d like to share to introduce yourself.

What would I like to share? Hmmmmmmm……. I’m a space cowboy! Okay, I’m not but I really want to be. Does that count? Didn’t think so. Well, I guess I’ll have to settle for being a writer. Still pretty cool.

1. What genre(s) do you write and why?

If this had been a year ago, I could say I wrote paranormal comedies of a romantic nature. That isn’t just the case anymore. As I’ve continued to evolve as an author, I’ve branched out you might say. It’s a short step to go from Paranormal to Urban Fantasy. I didn’t stop there. I’ve authored two Young Adult novels featuring superheroes. Going outside my comfort zone, I am currently working on a horror novel that spans the time from ancient Egypt to the modern day. Basically, I’m having fun doing what I love.

2.What’s your favorite beverage?

Depends on the time of day. Right now I’d say it’s a toss up between Sweet Tea and Coffee.

3. If you had to listen to one song over and over again for a whole day, what would it be?

Hard one, because depending on what mood I’m in it could be anything. My Ipod has over 6,000 songs on it, so I’ve got plenty to choose from. If I had to pick one, which apparently I do, I think it would be Keep Making Me by Sidewalk Prophets.

4. What is your least favorite part of writing?

The struggle to overcome the book hump writer’s block.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

My daughter’s spare room, so I could spoil my grandson twenty four hours a day.

6. Are you an avid reader? When you do read someone else’s writing, what is your favorite genre?

I love to read! Again, my favorite is subject to change depending on my mood. I have never limited myself to loving one genre over another. Right now, my favorite is Science Fiction. I’m rereading one of my all time favorites, The Mote in God’s Eye by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle.

7. Where do you get the ideas for your stories?

I steal them from Paisley Kirkpatrick. Honestly, I do and crazily enough she lets me.

8. Tell me about your ideal reader.

Anyone who enjoys a good read and having an adventure they won’t soon forget.

9. If you were to choose one superpower, what would it be?

It’s all about the flying.

10. Tell us about your next book & when is it being published?

My next book will be coming out in February and is the second installment in my Scrolls of Eternity series, Storms of Chaos. I will throw everything but the kitchen sink at my young superhero, Patrick Hughes. In book one he battled the ancient Egyptian god of evil, Sutehk. This time around the Norse gods are taking their turn at making his life miserable. Surviving is the easy part. Surviving without his family discovering his secret identity might just be the impossible part.
