  1. Lilian Gamble says:

What I love about America is the freedom to worship, think what I want to think, be who I want to be, and do what I want to do, obviously with out infringing on someone else.

Thanks a lot and have a wonderful 4th of July

  2. Yvonne cruz says:

I have traveled the world, and while visiting wonderful locations, there are so many oppressed citizens. To be able to have free speech, opinions , and voting rights is an honor and a privilege .we have to thank our founding Fathers and our troops for this wonder country

  3. Judy Tulloch says:

I love living in the United States because of the freedoms we have…. My paternal grandparents, dad, brothers and sister immigrated to the United States for a better life.

My book choice is Killing Secrets.

    • Karen Docter says:

My husband’s great-grandmother came over with her four boys, as well as my great-grandparents, for the same reason. 🙂

      • Judy Tulloch says:

My dad and his parents and siblings, born in Holland, became citizens of the USA. Dad had two brothers born in the states after coming here.
Dad and two of his brothers served here in the armed forces. Dad, in the Army, was killed in Germany during WII. He was stationed in the states but asked to go over seas to fight for our country. One shouldn’t take for granted the freedoms we have.

        • Karen Docter says:

I agree, we shouldn’t take our freedoms for granted. So many have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom. I’m sorry you lost your dad.

You didn’t say which book you wanted. 🙂

  4. Rose Arbor says:

I love my country very much. Many people have fought and died for our freedoms. I am proud of my country. And it is beautiful. I have visited 28 states. I already have all of your books, Karen. Happy 4th, everyone!

  7. cindy says:

I love America because you can be who you are without having to be afraid for your life and taken away in the middle of the night.

    • Karen Docter says:

So many of us just don’t know what that feels like. We take our freedom for granted.

Thanks for weighing in, Cindy. You don’t mention a book title you want. Just let me know. 🙂

  8. Vickie Chaisson says:

I love that we have the freedoms we do. This is a beautiful country with beautiful people. I wouldn’t live anywhere else. My family has fought and died for this country and I honor them everyday.

I would like Cop on her Doorstep or Killing Secrets. Thank you.

    • Karen Docter says:

Well said, Vickie! My family has fought and died for our freedoms as well. I’m grateful for that every day.

Do you want pure romance (COP ON HER DOORSTEP) or romantic suspense (KILLING SECRETS)?

  9. Lasartor says:

    Hi Karen,
What an awesome gift you’re giving us. Thank you. Democracy=Choice=Freedom. It’s not a perfect union, it continues to take work and we must all do our part every day to make the United States of America, united. Happy 4th of July to to you all.

Cop On Her Doorstep, please. Again, thanks!

  10. Glenda says:

I love the freedom we have to believe what we want and to act on those beliefs as long as we don’t physically injure others by those actions. This country may not be perfect but we have many more freedoms and benefits from them than any other country.

  11. Robin Driscoll says:

Can’t say it enough, the freedoms we have. The song God Bless The USA by Lee Greenwood says it all. Can I request the Season of Thrills Box Set?

    • Karen Docter says:

I love all of the country patriotic songs! Lee’s is one of my favorites, too.

Season of Thrills will be coming your way tomorrow. I’m in the middle of moving my office and have plans this afternoon for the celebrations but I’ll be firmly planted in this seat in the morning. 🙂

  12. Colleen C. says:

Happy 4th! I am thankful for all the freedoms we have today… thankful to all of those past and present that have worked so hard to give us those rights and protect them.
Cop On Her Doorstep would be my choice! Thanks for your generosity Karen! 🙂

    • Karen Docter says:

  14. Oops, forgot: Satin Pleasures 😉

  15. Julie McDonough says:

I grew up as a military brat, so I have never taken the freedom we have in this country lightly. I have seen the repression other countries face, and it makes me proud of the freedoms we have. My youngest daughter is currently serving, been deployed 3 times, and very proud to be helping protect this country she loves. Happy 4th of July! Could I request Cop On Her Doorstep please?

    • Karen Docter says:

My FIL, husband, son, and father all served their country so I have never taken my freedom lightly either. I’m proud of your family and the sacrifices you’ve all made for my family’s freedoms, too. Bless your daughter.

I’ll be sending your book tomorrow. If you think your daughter would like a book, I’d love to gift it to her. Just let me know!

      • Julie McDonough says:

My daughter is on duty right now, but I contacted her and she would be honored to receive one of your books. Could she have Season of Thrills please? Thank-you so much!

  16. Kate Sparks says:

It amazes me that some people don’t realize what our country’s strengths are! You can be whatever and whoever you aspire to be.

    • Karen Docter says:

So many Americans don’t have a clue what it can be like in other countries. So complacent about our freedoms.

Let me know what book you want, Kate! Happy 4th!

  17. ELF says:

I love that this is truly the land of opportunity…that we have the choice to pursue whatever career we want, there is education for the asking, and we can read and say what we want to. I would love a copy of “Cop on Her Doorstep”.

Thank you so much for your generosity and Happy 4th to you.

One thing I love about living in America is the diversity and the freedom that allows for it. So many different cultures, ways of life, religions, food, and just the ability to pick and choose or just try out different ones without being persecuted for it. I truly feel that we get the best of all worlds here. 🙂 Have a great 4th of July and thanks for the opportunity! 🙂

  27. Jean White says:

I love the USA because living here is so much easier than in other countries. Our necessities are cheaper. The military receives a COLA allowance for every foreign country that people are stationed to make up the difference in the cost of food. I would love to read Cop on Her Doorstep.

    • Karen Docter says:

We do have a lot more opportunities than many other countries. I’ll send the book tomorrow when I’m back in my office. Thanks!

      Happy 4th!

I was just watching a clip from the Olympic trials and noticed that, after the athlete preformed his routine and returned to his team mates, the variety of ethnic groups on the team. There were those of European, African and Asian decent. It was a visual of what makes this a great country to me. We are a melting pot with great things from all around and the traditions each person brings give us color and depth that should be embraced.

  31. Linda Moffitt says:

  39. Jonella Moore says:

I feel especially blessed to have been born and lived in the United States for the last 55 years! The world has become so chaotic and fearmongers may try to make us doubt that our country is still a great place to live, but I wouldn’t trade it for any other place on Earth. Thank you for the free book, and have a wonderful July 4th!

  40. Rita Sheppard says:

    I would like: Killing secrets.

  44. Tracey says:

The best part of living in the United States is the freedom.
Happy 4th of July! Thanks for the book: cop on the doorstep please.

  45. Martha says:

We have a lot more opportunities in United States for living a good life plus a lot more freedoms than some other countries. America is not perfect, of course but there are a great many great people here.

I would like to read “Killing Secrets”.

    Thanks!

  46. Linda Lutchka says:

Some of are relatives immigrated here to Ellis Island for a better life and others were here already. They fought for the freedom we have, some giving their lives.
Remember to honor our Veterans, they fought for our freedom!
I would like Catch That Santa. Thank You. ?

  47. Lisa Bateman says:

Thank you so much for this fabulous gift! Not to mention all the time you are taking to respond to everyone. I will be sure and leave a review. I have several ARCs right now but will be reading yours soon. They all look so good it’s hard to decide. I’m torn. Cop on her door sounds so good. I’m usually not a just romance without paranormal but I do like it. And my hubby was a cop for 18 years before he became a magistrate. But I think I would like Season of Thrills. I love suspense.
What I like about living in U.S. Is freedom- freedom of worship, equality. And after learning more about the law from my hubby, it makes me appreciate our safety better. We have great laws in place so no one can just go out and wrong us or harm us without being brought to justice. And everyone gets a fair trial. Or all this is set up for that. I know there are bad people out there and there’s always gonna be attacks but there are also great people that will come together as a community. And I thank God for our brave men and women who protect the country and the brave men and women who are cops and protect us. I’m amazed with them because they get paid so little with that job. It’s barely enough to live on. I’m rambling right now. Sorry lol thanks.

    • Karen Docter says:

Thanks for stopping by to ramble. 🙂 I loved your ramble. 🙂 I love suspense which is why I need to write two genres. My darker side just must be set free on occasion! LOL

  48. Marcia Karon says:

We have been the land of the free and the home of the brave, but today, too many people are more interested in coveting what others have worked hard for and want the government to take from the hard working and successful to give to those who don’t want to be free but subservient to the government- exactly what the Revolution was fought for. Many today would have sided with the Tories. I’d like to read Cop on her Doorsteps. It seems to have the same two people in the same position as Christie Ridgeway’s Make Him Wild.

    • Karen Docter says:

Thanks for stopping by to share your thoughts, Marcia. I agree with you. Today is more than BBQs and fireworks. I hope you enjoy Jake and Carrie’s story. 🙂

  49. Lori LaBelle says:

I love that we are all free to be what we want to be!

  50. Lori LaBelle says:

Sorry I forgot to put my book choice. I think Killing Secrets looks like an interesting read. Thanks

  51. Happy 4th of July! I love living in a country where I have so many freedoms, especially the freedom to read. 🙂

I would like Cop On Her Doorstep. Thank you so much for your generosity!

  52. Donna Durnell says:

I think one of the most important things to me about living in the United States is our freedom to worship. We can still go to church Sunday morning without anyone stopping us, or censoring what the pastor preaches. Some of our other religious freedoms are certainly being infringed on in this day and time, but at least for now we can proclaim Jesus without state persecution.
There are other reasons I love living in the US as well — choice of education, careers, opportunities to better oneself. We have clean water, better nutrition, all the things that some countries don’t.

It’s hard to pick just one of the books — I’d like to read them ALL. But “Cop On Her Doorstep (True Love In Uniform Book 1)” or the boxed set of mystery books would probably be the best for me. Thank you.

    • Karen Docter says:

I appreciate you stopping by to share your love for America. I think we all agree that our freedoms are what makes America a wonderful place to live. Yes, some of those freedoms have been infringed on lately but we also have the freedom to change that. 🙂 Hope you had a wonderful Independence Day!

  53. Tammy Hall says:

So Sorry I missed this! Karen I have been wanting to read your books for a while now.
I will still tell you what I love about the US. I love the ability to live freely as a female. There was a time when women were nothing more than property. I am thankful to have the freedom of choice, freedom of voting, even the freedom to have my own opinion and to speak it. I believe that everyone should have those freedoms regardless of sex, skin color, or any other thing.
Thank you Karen for your blog I read it daily. <3
