John races against the clock to find all the answers and bring his wife home alive.

Excerpt

Prologue

The Freetown Forest stood eerily quiet. The moon high in the sky, brightly lit the leave-strewn paths winding through the over-grown trees.

Blood-curdling screams pierced the silent night with horrifying intensity. The young woman behind the screams, tortured beyond anything her mind could comprehend.

Finally, the screams ceased and her mangled lifeless body lay in the center of a carved out pentagram. No more pain to feel, no more blood to give. The dirt beneath her body held no blood. The eye sockets that were once beautiful green eyes were nothing more than black holes. Her naked body, marred with holes that had held tubes to drain every last drop of her blood. The heart that once beat in her chest had been removed. Her once beautiful face, forever frozen in a gruesome contorted horror from the pain she had endured.

The killer stood back and looked upon his work with endless pleasure. She had been delightful, he thought. She had been such a fighter, and of course, her calling out to God to help her made him tingle from head to toe. Yes this one had been a good choice. He walked around collecting all his tools, making sure to leave nothing behind. After all, he still had a few more of these rituals to complete before he would be ready. It certainly wouldn’t do to give the local law enforcement any help in stopping him. He had to achieve his goal, or all of this would be for nothing.

Making several trips around and around the site to check for any possible items being left behind, had him whistling to himself. He was impeccable about his rituals, and this one would be no different. Once satisfied everything was packed up he poured water on the fire. It wouldn’t do to leave a bonfire burning all night in the Forest he snickered.
