Why did I write a second poetry book? After the completion of the first book, the channeling of emotions and experiences did not stop. More ideas came. Apparently, I had more to say. Also, the feedback has been positive and rewarding. Then, I had the bright idea to challenge myself to do another one. Follow the success. I reached back into my past. I used my muses again. I utilized events in my present, what was right in front of me. I got more personal. Exposed more. This was still therapeutic, freeing, authentic, and inspiring. I did not organize this book. I did this on purpose. (Though the epiphany escapes me now. Sorry). These poems grew organically from a feeling or an idea and I just wrote. So be forewarned it’s a rollercoaster ride. Hop in, buckle up, hands in the air, scream, cry, you’re in for one hell of a ride.

Excerpt ~ 3 Poems

She walks in beauty
Like blooming wildflowers in spring
Dancing, vibrant
Her brilliance becomes a second sun
Affecting the orbits around her
Drawing you in

She radiates with grace
Like a pirouetting ballerina on center stage
Powerful, alluring
Her moxie captivates the audience
Inspiring you to believe
Wanting you to try

She leads with kindness
Like a Miss Congeniality on her congratulatory tour
Dazzling, elegant
Her presence disarms with a finesse
Lackadaisical in her boldness
Symbolizing hard and soft

Do you know her
Is this you

Ten Seconds

How does ten seconds
Change your day
Does such a small amount
Of time and effort
Really matter that much
It does

A warm and fuzzy
Is the best medicine
Friendly, supportive
Therapeutic, cleansing
It is about the contact
Being connected

Such an intimate action
Becomes so powerful
That intense embrace
Two becoming one
Reinforces a vested bond

It is given freely
Created by love
Showing you care
Welcoming, being wanted
Nothing else needs to be said
So, hug it out
Again, and again

Love Song

How will I know
If this is for real
When my broken heart
Refuses to try
Stays closed

Hope spoke to me of trust
The day I met you
My heart quickened, skipped
I wanted to cry
Fly right into your strong arms

We took it slow
You understood, waited
So generous and kind
We talked, danced, kissed
I started to believe, fall

You caught me, supported me
Love blossomed and grew
Into something I have never known
Our heartbeats created a song
So palpable, passionate, harmonious

I believe in this song
Every day, wholeheartedly
It brings me back
To where I belong
Always home, to you
