MERRY CHRISTMAS!

It’s coming!  And sometimes I feel like I’m riding a motorized ski board.

Good news.  I, along with other authors from Authors Billboard, can provide with you an array of spicy and sweet short stories to get you through the holiday.  I enjoy a good short story, especially when I feel like I have too much else to do.  What about you?

In my short story, I explore the budding romance between a scarred attorney and his assistant who find love when they’re trapped in an Inn haunted by a romance-happy ghost.  I love a small town-setting especially at Christmas.

My mother, the matriarch of our family, passed away a year and a half ago.  She was our Christmas Queen, so we sure are missing her.  This makes me think about what kind of things inspire me to celebrate Christmas.  Honoring the reason for the season.  Jesus’s birth.  Lights.  I would love “Griswold” lights, but I don’t think my husband is up for that.  So, I’ll enjoy the lights we share.  Baked good and snack mix.  I love to eat special Christmas treats and share them too. Charity.  I love giving to charities during the Christmas season. Tradition and memories.  My mother made a gaudy kissing ball that my sisters and I rotate among our homes.  My mother was also talented with making and painting ceramics, so I’m the happy owner and displayer of a lighted snow hut, Christmas tree and two Santas that she made.

What means Christmas to you?  What inspires you about Christmas?  Share a comment and you can be entered in a drawing receive the e-book  Christmas Shorts.

In the meantime, I wish you every bit of joy and love.

xoxo,

Leanne

  3. SAMANTHA says:

Sounds like my “cup of tea”. Christmas — to me it’s about love and family and comfort — I think of the thought that goes into a gift to someone you care about. I love the homemade gifts. I have bookmarks and drawings and more from my children over the years. I love the feeling of seeing the face of a child as they unwrap a present. I love the warmth of spending time with people I love. And yep, I can get sappy around Christmas.

  4. Kathleen Bylsma says:

Good heavens! These stories cover all the bases! Happy Christmas!

It sounds like you have a lot of wonderful memories, traditions and mementos to help you and your family get thru, not just the upcoming holiday, but each day that you go through without your mom. May the memories of your mom and the love of family help ease a little pain each and every day.
