Tales of the Fey Book One
BY LORI CORSENTINO
A Prince in Need
Five hundred-year-old Prince Alexander slumbers in an enchanted sleep. Imprisoned by ancient Fey magic to protect his people and stave off civil war, he awaits the woman destined to awaken him.
An Adventurer to the Rescue
A chance encounter with an enchanted sword transports modern-day archaeologist Evie to a magical realm where she’s solicited to rescue the slumbering prince. Is she The One…the only person who can return a beloved warrior to his people?
A Love Destined for the Ages
Even as Evie struggles with accepting the mission, her fascination and attraction to the handsome prince grows. Can her kiss bring him renewed life, forge an everlasting love, and restore peace or will her presence only serve to fuel the ambitions of an evil wizard and enable the machinations of his co-conspirators, The Dark Ones?
Hi everyone! I’m so excited to share the news about my “Tales of the Fey” series. It is a planned trilogy centering on three siblings in a Fey royal family.
I love reading a series. I suppose that’s why I like to write them so much. Tales of the Fey is no different. Each one of these stories is exciting in its own right. Together in a series, I think they’re going to be a real treat.
The first book is titled, Destiny’s Awakening and focuses on the brother, Alexander. It released just a few weeks ago on September 11th. This story is a twist on the fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty. A modern woman, Evelyn, or Evie as she prefers to be called, finds herself thrust into another world. She’s totally out of her element, especially when she finds that in order to get her Prince, she’s going to have to do the bulk of the work! Namely, she’s going to have to kiss him to wake him from an enchanted sleep. This story is a definite favorite of mine.
The second book focuses on Annora, Alexander’s twin sister and Crown Princess of their Fey realm, Sha’Mir. She’s got a bit of a cameo in the first book. The story starts out with her as the captive of a mad wizard. She is in serious need of a knight in shining armor. What she gets is Sebastian “Bas” St. James. A bounty hunter, ‘Bas doesn’t own a set of armor, and even if he did, it would definitely be tarnished. Although he’s not what she wants, he’s exactly what she needs.
The third book focuses on Analiese, the younger sister. She’s a warrior Princess who dabbles in science and technology, making her a true Renaissance woman. While on a mission, she finds herself in a strange place, with no memory of who she is or how she got there. Enter jaded cop Jake Devlin. He’s been there and done most everything. In the doghouse with his lieutenant, he’s assigned to look over the vulnerable Analiese. Having someone like her in his care is something he’s never done before, and soon swears to never do again.
I’m currently hard at work on books two and three. I’m planning to have book two released the end of the year/beginning of next year, and book three late in the spring or early summer of 2019. Destiny’s Awakening is now available from Amazon in both eBook and print, and also from other outlets, including Barnes & Noble, iBooks, and Walmart in eBook.
Excerpt from Destiny’s Awakening
Evie moved as silently as someone wearing hiking boots could and crept toward the sword. The polished metal glowed with a hypnotizing effect, beckoning her. She reached out,
palmed the hilt, and lifted the long blade. She was all in now, and this weapon could be the difference between life and death.
The same vibration as before engulfed her. Lasting only a few seconds, the effect strengthened and reinforced her. With newfound confidence, Evie cautiously returned to the doorway hidden in the gloom and peered inside. She made out several shapes in the dimness.
Good. Plenty of places to hide and get it together.
Trusting her instincts, she crept into the room. The light changed, growing brighter. Evie froze. A soft spotlight chased away the shadows and illuminated a large marble platform, revealing a prone figure dressed in light medieval armor and chain mail.
She moved closer. A warrior of some kind lay on a stone bed. A decoratively etched cuirass covered his broad chest. Banded spaulders protected his wide shoulders and upper arms. The plate metal glistened in the light, giving off a rich sheen. Evie took in a surprised breath.
Is he dead? Is this his tomb, his final resting place?
Matching gauntlets and greaves protected his lower arms, hands, and legs. Shiny leather boots reinforced with a covering of light metal plating along the shin and calf covered his feet.
A knight. In shining armor?
Lori’s life-long love of reading evolved into creating romantic tales of her own for others to enjoy. She experiments with writing different genres including paranormal, a definite favorite. “There is just so much you can do when you step outside the known world. Creating a paranormal story allows me to take my readers anywhere my imagination wants to go.”
Lori lives in Colorado where the great plains meet the majestic Rocky Mountains. A long-time technical writer, she enjoys traveling, gardening, reading, and more creative hobbies than she cares to admit including photography, graphic artistry, and creating beaded jewelry.
Destiny’s Awakening is Lori’s debut novel three times over and the first in the Tales of the Fey paranormal romance series. Be on the lookout for additional novels coming soon.
