The situation soon escalates. The simple problem Selene thought she was facing, becomes intense–FAST. The dilemma is much greater than she initially feared. Throw in a sexy witch she doesn’t want to be attracted to, and her life really gets complicated.

Overconfidence leads Selene to make a mistake which could cost everything. Can she unravel the mystery before it’s too late? Or will her latest nemesis be the death of her and those she loves?

Excerpt

The witch appeared to the left of me, near the side of the fountain. I registered him out of the corner of my eye without moving my head. I didn’t want to seem threatening, but I also wanted to have him in my sights.

“Are we going to have a problem?” he asked, his voice deep with an unmistakable southern accent. He stood still, not moving any closer.

“Depends on you,” I answered, still as a statue.

“I’m cool if you are.”

I inclined my head, my gaze never leaving the fountain. Did the witch leave the tarot card? I was hoping he would be on his way but couldn’t be so lucky. He surprised me by moving closer until he was standing directly between me and the water. Maybe he was a threat.

The light was bright behind me, making it difficult to see him even with my preternatural eyes. He seemed to glow like fire in front of me.

“You know, there used to be a pillory in this square. It was used for punishments, humiliations, like they all were. It was also used for witches.” His voice was low. Had there been any humans nearby, they wouldn’t have heard him over the sound of the water. I could and he knew it.
