EVERY DEEP DESIRE
Deadly Force Book #1
BY SHARON WRAY
He’s taking it all back
His honor, his freedom, and the woman he loves
Rafe Montfort was a decorated Green Beret, the best of the best, until a disastrous mission and an unforgivable betrayal destroyed his life. Now, this deadly soldier has returned to the sultry Georgia swamps to reunite with his brothers, and take back all he lost. But Juliet must never know the truth behind what he’s done…or the dangerous secret that threatens to take him from her forever.
It took Juliet Capel eight long years to put her life back together after her husband was taken from her. Now Rafe is back, determined to protect her at any cost, and it’s not just her heart that’s in danger. The swamps hold a secret long buried and far deadlier than either of them could have imagined…
First I want to thank Karen for having me on her Killer Fixin’s blog today. I’m so excited to be here.
My name is Sharon Wray and I write romantic suspense stories. My debut novel EVERY DEEP DESIRE is the first book in the Deadly Force romantic suspense series where ex-Green Berets and their smart, sexy heroines redeem Shakespeare’s greatest love stories.
EVERY DEEP DESIRE is a romantic suspense retelling of Romeo and Juliet. In this sexy action-packed version, the lovers from feuding families must face a team of disgraced ex-Green Berets, a brutal arms dealer, and a secretive army of assassins.
But the heart of this book is the love story between Rafe Montfort and his wife Juliet Capel. A couple who grew up together, married young, and were torn apart by forces far more powerful than they could’ve ever imagined.
Juliet Capel is a heroine who survived great hardships after her husband left her and the last thing she wants is help her recently-returned ex-husband defeat his enemies. Despite the fact that Rafe has come back to her as an incredibly sexy, full-grown man, she’s afraid to risk her heart.
As she learns about the horror of Rafe’s life for the past eight years, her resolve wavers. What Juliet doesn’t realize is that even if she agrees to help him fight his devils, and they succeed, she could still lose him forever.
While the danger around them mounts, Rafe and Juliet grow closer until one night they reunite in the marital bed sense. J The next morning Rafe is worried that Juliet is withdrawing from him again so he makes her Bourbon Peach French Toast. It’s the same breakfast they had the morning after their wedding night eight years earlier. He’s hoping the sensuous tastes of bourbon, butter, and brown sugar will remind her of the happiness they once shared.
EVERY DEEP DESIRE is a contemporary romantic suspense retelling of Romeo and Juliet. Book 2, ONE DARK WISH, redeems Othello and Desdemona’s story and comes out in 2019. And Deadly Force Book 3 (aka DF3 for now—poor untitled DF3) is a “what-if” story of Hamlet and Ophelia’s doomed love story.
To thank you all for spending the day with me today, I’m offering a signed paperback copy of Every Deep Desire to one lucky reader.
Thank you so much for sharing your blog, Karen. And I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

BOURBON PEACH FRENCH TOAST & PANCAKES
Serves 4 people (2 toasts or pancakes each)
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 25 minutes
Total time: 25 minutes
380 calories per serving of French toast (2 slices)
290 calories per serving of pancakes (2 pancakes)
Bourbon Peach Sauce
- 4-6 ripe peaches, sliced (pit removed)*
- 4 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 4 Tablespoons Kentucky Bourbon
- 8 slices of your favorite thick-sliced bread. (I like multigrain or day-old French bread)
- 4 large eggs
- 4 Tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 7 cups flour
- 4 teaspoons baking soda
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup pancake mix
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk****
- 1 Tablespoon oil
- Preheat griddle to 350 degrees. (Or a frying pan with butter to season the pan)
- In a pan, combine the peaches with the brown sugar. Turn the temp on low and let the peaches absorb the sugar for 6-8 minutes, stirring infrequently so as not to break up the fruit. Add in the bourbon and stir gently. Simmer for a few minutes until the alcohol has dissolved. It will look like peaches in a dark, sticky sauce.
- While peaches are simmering, mix eggs, water and spices in a shallow bowl (I use a glass pie plate). Dip the bread and cook on a lightly-oiled griddle or frying pan, only flipping once.**
- Place the French Toast on a plate and cover with bourbon peaches.
- Combine ingredients in a bowl and store in an airtight container. Mix lasts six months.
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Let it sit for one minute, then cook pancakes in a lightly-oiled skillet or frying pan, only flipping once.**
*If you can’t find fresh peaches, or don’t feel like cutting them, use canned or frozen. 2 12-oz cans of peaches in juice (drained) or a 20-oz frozen bag will work. Also, stale bread makes amazing French Toast, as do the crusts that no one likes to eat. The kids won’t eat them for lunch, but they devour the ends as French Toast. **I use an electric griddle to make French toast and pancakes and they turn out perfectly. ***If you make extra pancakes, they freeze really well for up to a month. ****If you don’t have buttermilk, I just add 1 teaspoon of white vinegar to a cup of milk. It’s not perfect but will do in an emergency.
Thanks, Sharon, for sharing your book with us!
Don’t miss the chance to read this book!
