**Author Peek** Interview with Cynthia Woolf

**Author Peek** Interview with

1. How did you get started writing?

I wrote my first story when I was ten, then in 1990 I joined Romance Writers of America and Colorado Romance Writers. Unfortunately, job loss and other outside influences made me let my memberships lapse and I wasn’t able to start writing again for ten years. In 2011, I was laid off work once again and I started writing and publishing my books. Now I have totally replaced my corporate income and more with my income from writing.

2.  What genre(s) do you write in and why?

I write historical Western romance because that is what I like and it is also what sells. I tried my hand at scifi romance but couldn’t sell them. There is no point in writing something that doesn’t sell, when you have another genre that does sell.

3.  What do you think about when you’re alone in your car?

Usually about the book I’m working on at the time.

4.  What is your favorite part of writing?

Getting the book on paper for the first time.

5.  What is your least favorite part of writing?

Getting the book on paper for the first time, when it is not coming easily and I’m blocked.

6.  Pick two celebrities to be your parents. Who would they be and why?

I haven’t any idea.

7.  Where do you get the ideas for your stories?

Everywhere. TV. Dreams. Movies. Newsletter articles, just saying what if…enough times that something finally clicks, from brainstorming with my Just Write buddies.

8.  Tell me about your ideal reader.

My reader likes a Western/Victorian set love story with a little suspense thrown in.

9.  What is your “go to” routine that helps you get in the mood to write? Special beverage? Music? Etc.

Just get coffee and get to the computer and start writing…of course that is if I can tear myself away from Facebook and Pinterest.

10. Tell us about your next book & when is it being published?

I just published a book called KISSED BY A STRANGER with the Montana Sky Kindle Worlds. Here is the blurb for the book.

Widow Laura Fitzhugh has lost everything but her wonderful daughter. Josie is the light of her life and the only reason Laura keeps going. Offered a home and a job in Morgan’s Crossing by her cousin, Laura jumps at the opportunity.

Bill Simms lost his wife and daughter to influenza seven years ago and has closed himself off from everyone, hoping to never feel that pain again. A chance run in with a beautiful little girl who kisses his cheek, changes his life forever.

A threat from Laura’s past forces Bill and Laura to work together to save Josie and perhaps themselves in the process.
