[[Welcome to my weekly writer’s diary where I’ll share my “Woot Woot!” moments and the not so “woot woot” moments of my writing world. And, yes, I might even share the occasional musing or two about reading and writing, two of my favorite things!]]
It’s Thursday ~ 11/29/12 ~ and…
I’m happily, frantically, gleefully getting ready for surgery next week…for those who haven’t noticed all of my posts about the ups and downs of finally getting my knee replacement. Everything’s done for surgery…well, except for showing up. 🙂 Surgery’s scheduled for Wednesday, December 5th, so I hope you all will be thinking about me on that day. With luck and some serious rehabilitation, I should be home sometime on Friday.
Now for all of the arrangements I need to make in order to come home to an orderly personal and writing life. Wait. Did I say orderly? Scratch that. I’ll just be happy if I can get myself back online as soon as possible. With that in mind, I’m moving my entire office upstairs tonight to the diningroom so I can rehab all on one floor. I’m hoping three or four days of working in my new “office” will tell me what I’m missing. Otherwise, my husband is going to go crazy running up and down stairs as I “try” to tell him where I think something is located.
Gotta love supportive husbands!
I also need to let everyone one know that this blog will continue as usual, with one exception (noted in schedule below). My daughter will be monitoring the blog while I’m in the hospital and making sure that all of my wonderful author guests are highlighted on my Facebook and Twitter pages. Please be sure to come visit next week so you don’t miss anyone. I have two special guests next week. Here’s the schedule:
Monday ~ Interview with DeEtte Beckstead
Author of Christian Fiction with Angels & Demons
Tuesday ~ Novel Gems ~ T’was the Week Before Christmas
Poem written by Karen Docter
Wednesday ~ Karen’s Killer Book Bench with DeEtte Beckkstead
Author of VICTORY, Releasing soon!
Thursday ~ Karen’s Diary Drop-In 12-06-12 CANCELLED
Friday ~ Karen’s Killer Fixin’s with Deborah Palumbo
Author of Paranormal laced with mystery & romance, Historical, & mystery/crime
Deborah’s also sharing her ecipe for SWEET POTATO & CARAMELIZED APPLES CASSEROLE
So bear with me as I go on hiatus for part of next week. I should be back on schedule the following week even if I am moving slow as molasses. I can still type, can’t I? I promise not to type until I’m off the meds though. 🙂
I hope everyone who wanted my holiday novella, CATCH THAT SANTA, snapped it up while it was free the past three days. It’s no longer free, however, if you have Amazon Prime, you can still borrow it. I know a lot of readers downloaded Sara’s and Cisco’s heartwarming story so, if you’re one of them and liked it, please rate it on Goodreads or review it on Amazon. The Christmas holidays are rushing upon us and I’d like to know everyone who wants to read it gets that chance.
Several fun announcements….
** I am the Author Spotlight at http://storyfinds.com/ all of next week. You can find information there all week about me and my romantic comedy, SATIN PLEASURES.
** SATIN PLEASURES is now available on most digital sites: Kindle, Nook, Smashwords (including Kobo, Apple, iTunes, etc.) If you haven’t had a chance to read this fun story because you don’t have Kindle or Nook, jump onto Smashwords and choose the format you prefer. Of course, the book is also available in paperback form on Amazon for that Christmas stocking you want to fill for your mom, sister, or best friend.
** I’m now set up on AuthorGraph so you can request an autograph on your digital copy of SATIN PLEASURES at http://www.authorgraph.com/books?utf8=%E2%9C%93&search=satin+pleasures&commit=Search. I can also autograph CATCH THAT SANTA at http://www.authorgraph.com/books?utf8=%E2%9C%93&search=catch+that+santa&commit=Search.
Okay, that’s enough news for today. I want to wish you all a wonderful week!
See you Thursday, December 13, 2012, for another rousing entry in Karen’s Diary Drop-In….
