Murder Mystery Starring Annie Hansen

Annie Hansen, a young schizophrenic private eye, must solve two grisly murders in the small island town of Serendipity, Canada.

A not-so-popular doctor, Dr. William Hubert, and the mayor of Serendipity, Rick Spacey, have both become victims of a gruesome murder. Handsome detective Mark Snow is called in to investigate, and he teams up with Annie to solve the murders.

But Annie is haunted by her past, unable to overcome her mother’s death and her father deserting the family. Things take a complicated turn when Annie, along with her boyfriend Samir, finds herself to be one of the suspects.

What prompted the killings, and what is ‘MASER’, a cryptic message left on the doctor’s charts? And is it possible that Annie, or one of her friends, is behind the horrendous crimes?

Blood Sister is a uniquely courageous and quirky whodunit.

Mental Illness Awareness

Replete with hallucinations and OCD, experience a season in the life of a young woman with schizophrenia, hot on the trail of a murder suspect(s). The killer could be her, or her friends Samir and Pepsi – aided by the handsome detective Mark Snow, will Annie get her man (or woman) before they strike again in the small island community of Serendipity, Canada?

Turn the tables on your preconceptions of mental illness as a violent disease devoid of humor, gentleness, and love. Annie will take you to another plane of awareness where she counts on her fingers under a table to keep away the “evil eye” and establish some control over her racing thoughts. She doubts herself at times, as we all do, and it is possible that her mind has tricked her into a descent to a jail cell rather than freedom from her past.

Pink rhinos and lime green snakes vie with suns rising in the west to frighten a fragile spirit, yet provide gentle humor as Annie’s courage, resourcefulness, and fey charm make friends and ultimately solve the case.

Thanks to Karen for sharing “Blood Sister”! It’s definitely worth reading for more than the mystery — information on schizophrenia is eye-opening and at times delightful. Annie Hansen is humorous, thoughtful, intelligent and strong, much like Kenna herself!
