The Chosen Kings Book 1

Living in the mountains with just my Papa could be a lonely life, but it is not. I have my two wolves friends, Klaus and Bjorn, who keep things interesting. They followed me up this mountain when I was just a young woman and have been with me ever since.

It has been almost five years now, and things are starting to change. My name is Aria, and I’m a woman now, ready to find love and start a family. I want someone to hold me close and love me. I don’t want to leave my home, but I know I can’t live this life of solitude much longer.

Bjorn and Klaus are changing too. Klaus is my kind gentle wolf that has kept the loneliness at bay. Even though he’s a wolf, we share a deep love. We are constant companions, and without his presence, I know I would be lost.

Bjorn has started to become more aggressive and has even bitten me. He pushes me in ways that are not acceptable, and I don’t know what to do with him. I am trying to show him that I am the master, but he is determined to keep his alpha status.

When an old Mage appears to us one night, everything changes. I find that Bjorn and Klaus are both men bound by a spell to live as wolves. Somehow, I release Bjorn, and as a man, he is more dominating than ever. His human name is Collin, and he is hard to resist when he takes me into his arms and kisses me with such fire and need, it leaves me shaking.

But there is still Klaus, and no matter how my feelings may be changing for Collin, I know Klaus is my true soul mate. He is the one I yearn for to become a man and hold me close in his arms.

None of that really matters if I can’t break the spell on both their heads. I have just twenty-eight days to do so until the next full moon. If I don’t break it, they both will return to their wolf state and remain that way forever. The pain of never seeing Klaus or him holding me is unbearable.

But to get to him, I must first grant Collin his one true heart’s desire… Me.

The Chosen Kings Book 1

Gina Manis, Author

Tell us a bit about yourself?

I live in the south, where I have a small farm. I have been married for eighteen years, and we have four kids (two teenage boys and two little girls).  I love anything that has to do with art. I like to paint and draw, take pictures, gardening and of course writing.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I always wanted to be but never thought that I could. I had so many problems in language and reading when I was young. I told myself stories every night as I went to sleep. My imagination has always had so much potential, and so when I decided to give it a try, the words have been flowing ever since.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

I was writing another series and building this world and this legend kept coming up. I decided to write it in its own series and The Water Princess was born. At that time, also, I had discovered reverse harem and wanted to give it a try. Reverse harems, I think, are harder to write because you have to find a connection with many characters. It has been a challenge, but I have so much enjoyed it.

What are you working on now?

I’m actually working on that other series that got me unto The Water Princess. It is written a few hundred years in the future and the world has changed. The elementals have died out and now you have the Elemental Mages. There will be four mages with standalone stories, and each of them will have to choose their kings. They will intertwine in places for one overall story for those who enjoy longer series.

Do you have any quirks while working?

I don’t really but I do often work around chaos. I have a large family, and people are always around. I do try and do most of my writing in the night and have nodded off while writing.

What are your hopes for the future?

I always have a goal and not just one but many. I am a dreamer. Writing will keep me busy for a few more years, and then I plan to slow down a bit. I have several series I am working on publishing now and a few more I am looking to write.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

To make friends with others in the industry. You can’t do it alone, and it is always great when you have someone to turn to and ask questions. It also makes you feel good when you can help someone else.

Do you have anything to say to your followers?

Thank you for reading and for giving me a chance. I am a very outgoing person and would love to chat with anyone who would like. I always say I am an open book and you can ask me anything. I would also say that I like to surprise people so you can expect that from me in the future. I have some really great books coming out soon, and I think you are all going to like it.

Meet Author Gina Manis…

Gina Manis grew up in South Alabama, where country living is a way of life. She has a small farm with lots of animals, and she is proud to live a simple life with her family.

Growing up, she had problems with reading until a friend had her open up a romance book one day, and the lights came on. She started to write poetry and short stories, and though she liked it, she didn’t feel she was good enough to become a writer.

She worked hard in her career as a manager to businesses until she started her own online, where she was successful for eleven yrs.

As her family grew with a husband and four children, a mother and lots of animals, she gave it up to live a more leisure life and started writing in her free time again.

Now she is looking to publish all the books she has written finally. Romance books have always been a passion of hers, and that is what she writes. She loves fantasy, suspense, mystery, and giving birth to characters that go in them.

Her first book to publish, The Water Princess, will be just that, the first. There will be many more to come in the future.

Nice to meet you, Gina, although how living at home, being an author, maintaining an active family and farm animals hardly seems like a “more leisurely life!” 😉
This is going to be a good read!
    Thanks, Karen and Gina.

It is in my nature to be a caregiver, so my focus there makes it leisure for me. I am excited, Karen has shared my story and stories with you. I really hope you like them.

Good morning, Gina, and welcome to Karen’s Killer Book Bench. It’s interesting that you had problems with English but told yourself stories. Clearly, you have the storytelling skills and that’s what is important. The rest can be fixed. Telling a good story can’t be taught. Good for you. I LOVE your cover. So pretty and evocative. Thanks for sharing your book with us today!

  3. Gina Manis says:

Thank you Karen for having me a to your fans who took the time to read. If it wasn’t for romance, I may never have learned to read. I feel honored and blessed to be a writer now, something I have always wanted to do, but felt I couldn’t. Some great people help me with my flaws and point out my mistakes. I am always eager to fix and make a better story.
The Wind Mage, i thought was going to do me in. I worked over a year on it just to get right. Part two I have really expanded into an adventure out of this world. I have huge hopes for the series over the next few years.
