Paranormal Suspense Thriller Occult
BY STEPHANIE AYERS
Finn Janssens is about to lose it all. Desperate to save everyone he loves, he strikes a hasty deal with a hospital priest, selling his soul and agreeing to die multiple deaths to keep his wife and newborn child alive.
Stuck in a place where everyone can read his mind, and with a contract signed in blood, Finn realizes he made a huge mistake. With the help of a repentant demon, he devises a plan during that moment between life and death when his thoughts are his alone. He thinks he has plenty of time to figure things out, until Father B. L. Zeebub throws a kink in his plan. Staring down an eternity in hell, Finn must find the loophole he needs to get out of his contract before it’s too late.
Three lives. One sacrifice. There’s only one way out.
Character: Finn Jansens
What one word best describes you?
What are you passionate about these days?
Finding a loophole to get out of a contract I foolishly and rashly signed.
What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I’m not as meek as I seem. Kindness matters, but boundaries protect your happiness.
You just won a huge lottery what is the first thing you’d buy?
I’d buy a princess castle complete with a horse drawn carriage for Charlotte, and a concert hall for Mia.
Who should play you in a film?
I’m a very emotional man. There are several actors out there that could handle the scope of my character. Joseph Gordon Levitt, Tom Hardy, and Orlando Bloom are a few that come to mind.
Do you play any sports?
I am more of a geek than an athlete. I prefer to be sitting behind a screen making beautiful graphics and brilliant ads for others rather than playing with a ball.
What would we find under your bed?
A few socks and dust bunnies. Mia is a meticulous house keeper.
What is something you want people to know about you?
I will stop at nothing to secure my family’s safety.
Tell us about your greatest achievement.
Work: Securing a graphics contract with a well known multimedia company.
Personal: Getting Mia to marry me.
What was the scariest moment of your life?
When they rushed Mia away for emergency surgery during childbirth. I really believed I was going to lose my girls.
Is there a piece of advice that you have received that has really stuck with you? If so, what was it?
Be careful what you wish for.
If you could apologize to someone in your past, what would you say?
“I’m sorry.” That’s what I would say. I can’t undo it, I can’t take it back, but I can be sincere in regretting how it affected them. I will never apologize for signing the contract even though it hurt so many of my loved ones. They are still alive, and their pain is proof of their living.
A creative ninja with a dark mind and a quirky nature, Stephanie Ayers writes all the words and spins twisted tales filled with horror, fantasy, suspense, and anything in between. With a trunk full of tricks thanks to a checkered past, she haunts Irish castles and snowy mountaintops in her dreams, while living the unicorn life in Ohio disguised as a human. When she isn’t listening to the voices in her head, she spends her days as a mom, Gigi, cat lover, and Netflix binger, while avoiding housework at all costs.
Since signing with Crazy Ink Publishing, Stephanie has managed to somehow meet (most of) her deadlines and produce over a dozen solo works (with no ending in sight). With ink in her blood, an absence of fear, and a passion for telling stories, she isn’t afraid to dip her pen in the inkwell of many genres, and even has two successful series in her name—the stand-alone horror volumes of The 13 Series and her epic five book fantasy series, Destiny Defined.
When she isn’t lost in her overactive imagination or entertaining her mini-unicorns, you can find her stalking her weekly Dear Stabby column at Gothic Bite Magazine© and weaving words for Ladies of Horror fiction.
