What would you do to be famous?
Kayleigh Barnes runs a horror movie themed Instagram account that is beginning to gather some steam. Her goal, though, is to make it bigger and better, so that she can become an internet star.
When offered the opportunity to Beta test a subscription horror game called “The Hollow-Eyed Girl,” Kayleigh jumps at the chance.
Pretty soon, she is granted access to a live online feed showing a girl locked and bound in the basement of an unknown location. The clues that Kayleigh and her friends receive need to be solved in order to save the girl before time runs out.
The stakes are raised as the clock winds down.

Author Interview
Before we get started talking about your writing, tell us a little about yourself, where you’re from, what you do for a living (if you’re not a full–time writer) what hobbies you have, etc. Whatever you’d like to share to introduce yourself.
I am originally from Scotland, but I spent time living in Canada before moving to Atlanta. I write full-time between freelance articles for sports websites and my books. I am married to Penny, a Regional Chef, and we have 4 kids from previous marriages, as well as 5 grandchildren.
1. What’s your favorite part of the writing process?
I love those days were the words just come easily and a story take a turn in a direction you didn’t see coming. You feel in control and totally out of it at the same time.
2. If you were to choose one superpower, what would it be?
The ability to fly. It would be great to travel the world without spending countless hours in airports.
3. Do you ever get stuck when you’re writing a book? What do you do to get “unstuck”?
Sometimes. When it happens, I focus on writing something else, or I step away go for a shower. It’s amazing how many times the solution comes to you when you are relaxing under a stream of hot water.
4. What is your least favorite part of writing?
Editing, although I tend to do it as I go.
5. If we came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare for us?
I would ask my wife to take care of it. There are benefits to being married to a chef.
6. What do you wish you’d done differently when you first started the publishing process?
I wish I hadn’t waited so long. I was 51 years old when I first got published. The reality, though, was that I didn’t have the confidence to submit anything. I wrote that first published book for NaNoWriMo, but I had no plans of doing anything with it. My wife talked me into submitting after she read it.
7. What is most difficult for you to write? Characters, conflict or emotions? Why?
Dialog is where I believe I am at my weakest. I wrote that first novel in transcript style as an exercise in dialog. I am better now, but I still doubt those words sometimes.
8. A penguin walks into your office, right now, wearing a sombrero. What does he say to you and why is he here?
I imagine he would be here to tell me that it was time to stop drinking for the night and go to bed.
9 If you could wave a magic wand, what ill in the world would you solve and why?
Hunger, specifically child hunger. No child should ever go hungry.
10. Tell us about your next book & when is it being published? Please provide links to your website, blog, books, etc.
My latest novella, Swimming Upstream, just released. It is a family drama tearjerker that is far removed from my usual horror fare.
Thank you!!
