Novel Gems ~ 06-04-13 ~ Killing Secrets by Karen Docter

Welcome to Novel Gems ~ Killing Secrets 06-04-13!

I love to sneak a peek into a writer friend’s developing novel. It’s just so much fun watching their story grow and getting the inside scoop.  So every Tuesday until I finish my romantic suspense, Killing Secrets, I’ll share a gem with you ~ a couple of sentences, several paragraphs of a pivotal scene, or a phrase that just made me sigh or laugh out loud or scares me or…well, you get the picture.

A bit of set up for today’s gem….

Rachel is in a quandary…and that’s all you’re getting!

Happy Reading!

Killing Secrets by Karen Docter

No.  She wasn’t falling for the man.  She’d fallen.  Hard.  It was the only explanation for her actions.

Her reaction to Patrick’s kiss last night was the most damning evidence of her fall from grace.  She not only hadn’t pushed him away when he kissed her, she’d thrown herself into it.  All the trauma of the day had completely slipped out of her mind.  All she could focus on was his lips on hers, demanding a response.  Coaxing her to open her mouth to him.  Tasting him as she’d longed to do in her darkened room at night ever since she’d first seen him in the moonlight.  Even now, tingles of desire swept through her body, teased her breasts, begging for more.  Even feeling Patrick grow hard beneath her bottom hadn’t stopped her headlong crash into the need building inside her.

If Sam hadn’t arrived….her eyes snapped open and stopped the erotic images from forming in her mind.  Okay.  She was attracted to Patrick but, after her experience with Greg, how could she lose herself so completely in Patrick’s arms?  When he touched her, her instincts told her to trust him.  To give into her desire, for once taking something for herself.  But did she dare go down that road again?

….see you next Tuesday with another NOVEL GEM.
