Novel Gems ~ 11-06-12 ~ Killing Secrets by Karen Docter

Welcome to Novel Gems ~ Killing Secrets 11-06-12!

I love to sneak a peek into a writer friend’s developing novel. It’s just so much fun watching their story grow and getting the inside scoop.  So every Tuesday until I finish my romantic suspense, Killing Secrets, I’ll share a gem with you ~ a couple of sentences, several paragraphs of a pivotal scene, or a phrase that just made me sigh or laugh out loud or scares me or…well, you get the picture.

A bit of set up for today’s gem….

Patrick receives a threat that makes him even more determined to stand his ground…and that’s all you’re getting! 🙂

Happy Reading!

Killing Secrets by Karen Docter

Jack had better find Greg Bishop soon.  Patrick thought of the note he’d handed over to his brother this morning, the one he’d found on his truck seat when he took Rachel and the kids to work.  The words were pieced together from magazines or newspapers and pasted into place like a ransom note which was disturbing enough. But it was the message itself that made his blood run cold, just as it had when he read it before stuffing it into his shirt pocket so Rachel wouldn’t see it.

He knew the threat was aimed at him, that Bishop was staking his claim warning him away from Rachel, but he was worried what the man might do once he realized Patrick wasn’t going to turn tail and run.  That he was going to protect Rachel and Amanda no matter what he threatened.

….see you next Tuesday with another NOVEL GEM!

    1. Thanks, Jan! I’m certainly having a ball writing it. Taking a little sidetrip this week to finish off a holiday, romantic comedy novelette but then it’s back to work on Killing Secrets. I still hope to get it out in time for Christmas. 🙂

      Have a great week!
