Misty Evans: Welcome, you two! Kali, Rad—thanks for taking the time out of your day to chat with me on Karen’s Killer Book Bench Blog. I hope I haven’t interrupted anything.

Kali: Just saving humanity. You know. The usual.

Rad: Or in my case, being a sexy rock star and preventing the collapse of the known universe.

Kali: He means causing trouble and asking me to clean it up.

ME: Let’s talk about Sweet Betrayal. Without spoilers, what’s it like facing danger together?

Kali: Stressful. Loud. Frequently involves fighting and copious amounts of espresso.

Rad: Espresso first, preferably. Kali is a lot to handle without her caffeine.

Kali: Rude.

Rad: But truthful.

ME: Kali, what’s the most annoying thing Rad did during this book?

Kali: Nearly died.

Rad (indignant): I saved your backside.

Kali: You distracted me and nearly got us both killed.

Rad: I can’t help that you’re easily distracted by my muscles.

ME: Rad, your turn—what’s something Kali does that annoys you?

Rad: That death glare she uses instead of actual grenades.

Kali: If I wanted you dead, I wouldn’t need grenades.

Rad (proud): See? My girl.

ME: Rad, you released a new Chaos Demons album. Tell the readers about it.

Rad: Glad you asked. Chaos Rising is a raw, moody, rock soundtrack of the last year of our life—every battle, every near-death experience, every kiss.

Kali: You make it sound romantic.

Rad: It is romantic. I bled for you on Track 7. Literally.

ME: Kali, which track is your favorite?

Kali: The one he didn’t put me in the lyrics for.

Rad: You mean the ballad? You are the lyrics.

Kali: Glares

Rad (whispers): Worth it.

ME: There’s a lot of tension between you two—of all types. What’s your secret to working together without killing each other?

Kali: Threats. Strategic breathing.

Rad: Kissing works too.

Kali: No comment.

ME: If you could describe this book in one sentence, what would it be?

Kali: A chaotic, high-stakes urban fantasy adventure where I have to betray someone dear to me in order to save the universe.

Rad: A love story wrapped in mayhem.

Kali (glares)

Rad: What? Every day with you is a love story.

ME: What’s one thing your fans don’t know about this adventure?

Kali: We had a lot of off-page discussions about who was going to become human.

Rad: Three discussions. And a rock, paper, scissors game. I lost.

Kali: You always lose.

ME: I didn’t realize you were bartering to see who it would be.

Kali (evil grin): There are a lot of things you don’t know that go on behind your back.

ME: Hmm.

ME: Final question. What do you want readers to do after finishing Sweet Betrayal?

Rad: Grab the Chaos Demons album, Songs for the Damned. Crank it until the walls beg for mercy.
