CELEBRATING THANKSGIVING WEEKEND
WITH A
PAUSE & A GIVEAWAY!!!
I know I’m a day early wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving but we’re all going to be busy tomorrow and it’s time for quality time with friends and family and, if we’re all lucky, a good book.
This year, I’ve decided to take four days off from social media and blogging to dive headfirst into one of my novels, which I hope to release next month. (Nope! Not telling you which series. That will be another celebration. 🙂 ) So this will be my last bog post until next Monday, November 28th.
BUT, I ALSO WANT TO CELEBRATE WITH YOU, MY LOVELY READERS!!
While I’m banging on the keyboard the next four days, please feel free to comment below and I will send you a #FREE Kindle copy of my Christmas novelette, CATCH THAT SANTA, the moment I get back online on Monday. My gift to you!
You can just say, “Hey!” But please feel free to share what you love most about the Thanksgiving holiday. What does Thanksgiving mean to you? Do you have a favorite food? Best memory? Traditions?
When I rejoin the social world on Monday, I’ll send you an email to verify your email address so be sure to add my email <kldocter@yahoo.com> to your contacts list so you don’t miss my email. Check your SPAM folder if you don’t hear from me by the end of the day, Monday.
IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR A FUN READ this holiday and haven’t had a chance to read one of my novels (I write contemporary romance as Karen Docter and romantic suspense as K.L. Docter), I hope you’ll check them out. You can find them everywhere.

The sexy Italian cop sets off all kinds of bells in her system, and she knows there’s only one thing she can do to save what is left of her family, her husband’s memory, and her heart…avoid her new neighbor at all costs.
S.W.A.T. officer Jake Stefani already lost one little boy to gang violence, the dead boy’s older brother is missing, and Jake’s not about to let the same thing happen to a neighbor’s son. He drags the youngster home only to discover much more than a passing interest in the boy’s beautiful, but wary, mother. Forced to take a leave of absence after a bust goes awry, Jake can think of nothing better to occupy his time than to keep Carrie and her son safe, and locate the missing teen who holds the key to taking the gang off the streets, once and for all.
But Jake doesn’t count on his stubborn, intriguing neighbor distracting him from his job, or the passion that flares between them. He doesn’t expect her amazing son to steal a piece of his heart. Jake is ready to risk everything for Carrie, body and soul. But it’s not all up to him. If their new love is to survive, Carrie will need to be strong enough to see the man’s beating heart behind the badge, to look beyond the pain of her past, and decide that loving again is worth the risk.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
Happy Thanksgiving, Karen! I enjoy your posts on Facebook, and reading your blog.
For me , spending time with family and friends is what I love most of Thanksgiving. We live in an era of always rushing around, and don’ often stop to be grateful for what and who we have in our lives.
Hi Karen! What I love most about Thanksgiving is good friends, family, and good. It’s the tome spent laughing ❤. I just love all the love that gets spread this tome of the year. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
20 years ago, my coworker showed up on my doorstep late at night after work. He said he didn’t think I would want to be alone. You see, I was going through a divorce and still learning how to deal with no kids every other weekend (I would watch cartoons at night because I missed them so much)….and the night in question would have been my anniversary. This coworker quickly became a friend. In fact, I told him he could eat Thanksgiving at my house….and then bailed on him because I was scared of him (or scared of the idea of another relationship). He ate Fiddle Faddle and Manwich that Thanksgiving while I spent the day with a family I didn’t know. 20 years later and he is my best friend and husband – he’s my rock. So – why Thanksgiving – well, he has cooked the meal every year since. I have not cooked a turkey in over 20 years. I help here and there, but it’s his day and he rocks it like a master chef. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
My thankfulness today is that he cared enough to take the time out of his life to make sure I was okay. I am thankful that I have him in my life to kick my butt when I need it and to hold my hand when I need that too.
Life has a way of being so horrible at times. And I have my escape, my safe place, my rock…..
Happy Thanksgiving
Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving, Karen and family! And that’s what Thanksgiving means to me: family and family by extension, since they are all long time family friends!
Happy Thanksgiving!
My favorite memory of Thanksgiving was when I was a young girl in the late 40’s. We spent Thanksgiving at my maternal grandmothers. I was the oldest grandchild, had a younger sister and an uncle who younger than me. You would think grandma would shoo all of us youngsters out of the kitchen so we weren’t underfoot. She would have a few jobs that one of us could handle if we wanted to help. I loved making the whipped cream. I always volounteered for that job, even if my hand would be achy afterwards. Since there was no electric mixer, it had to be done with an old fashion, old fashion in our days now, had beater. I loved that job. The rewards were to be in the kitchen helping grandma and I got to lick the beaters when I was done! She made datenut bread baked in recycled tin cans. I looked forward to it. It was sooooo good. Those Thanksgivings were my favorite.
Just wanted to say, I loved “Cop On Her Doorstep”. It’s one of my favorite books.
Happy Thanksgiving!
