Paranormal Zombie Dystopian
BY HOPE CARTER & D’ANN LINDUN
With a Danger on the Rise… Will Love Survive??
Monsters in the Mountains
For Derek Hawkins, the end of the world started before the outbreak. After a relapse with alcohol and a long stint in rehab, he never imagined leaving treatment to find the world as he knew it, a now hellish landscape full of the undead. However, survival takes on a new meaning when his best friend calls from the hospital and asks for a favor— to take Aurora and Emma Winters to Alpine before the outbreak reaches them.
High up in the San Juan Mountains, the ghost town appears to be the safest place from the living and undead.
Except no place is safe.
And Derek struggles to keep his feelings for Aurora from blossoming in the middle of a battle between the living and the undead.
Aurora Winters didn’t believe her boyfriend, Carson, when he talked about civilization collapsing because of the virus spreading worldwide. It’s not until the day of the outbreak that she realizes he is telling the truth amid a web of lies.
It’s not Carson who comes to her and their baby daughter, Emma’s, rescue during the initial outbreak. Instead, his best friend, Derek Hawkins, takes them to Alpine— a ghost town high up in the San Juan Mountains.
In the midst of survival, Aurora finds herself conflicted about grieving her previous life and her feelings for Derek.
The world is no longer the same. It’s dangerous because of the undead and the living.
And danger is lurking behind the gates of Alpine.
Her Cowboy Savior
A group, including Frankie Abbot, have prepared for a zombie apocalypse. When it hits, she must get herself, her sister and two nieces to Alpine—a ghost town in the Colorado Rockies waiting for those who foresaw the oncoming disaster and prepared it. Not only do roaming zombies, but a rival group, stand in the way. Her neighbor, Grady, throws in with them.
Can Frankie protect not only her body but her heart as she fights to save her family?
Grady Mora never thought it would take a zombie apocalypse to get Frankie Abbot’s attention. He’s been in love with her since high school, but she never noticed he was alive. When the undead take over Sawpit, and head for his ranch, Grady races to save Frankie. Trouble is, she’s prepared to save herself.
Her Cowboy Savior
Frankie wandered around her bedroom, her fingers drifting over the top of her dresser. The things she’d brought up earlier comforted her a fraction. The cheval mirror that had been her mother’s, and a steamer trunk she’d brought from home with her mom’s wedding dress and a few other special items packed inside.
Golden light from an oil lamp fell across the room, making the hardwood floor gleam. She stepped across the rag rug she and Kelsi had made for a 4-H project, stopping in front of a family picture hanging on the wall. Taken before her parents’ death, the portrait was the only one the family had ever taken together.
Frankie smoothed her fingertips over their familiar faces. “I miss you, Mama. I miss you, Daddy.”
Tears threatened and she fought back sobs filling her throat. Crying wouldn’t solve anything, and she was a hell of a lot better off than tons of other people. An image of Carl and Faye Jeeves flashed through her head, and she blinked hard to erase the horrible images of her friends dying at her hand.
Falling in love with romance novels the summer before sixth grade, D’Ann Lindun never thought about writing one until many years later when she took a how-to class at her local college. She was hooked! She began writing and never looked back. Thirty-two manuscripts and numerous awards later, she is an Amazon bestseller! Romance appeals to D’Ann because there’s just something so satisfying about writing a book guaranteed to have a happy ending. Her particular favorites usually feature cowboys and the women who love them.
Contemporary and small-town romance author.
