Western Contemporary Romance

Reeling from the death of her only child and the breakup of her marriage, Stella King is desperate to escape the painful memories. The advertisement for the position of nanny on an isolated ranch in British Columbia’s rugged Chilcotin Plateau seems the answer to her prayers.

Dawson Wheeler, a tough, handsome rancher has worked hard to overcome his sorrow over the loss of his wife and build a predictable world for his five-year-old daughter. The second he sets eyes on the new nanny, he fears all that’s changed. The last thing he needs is the all too sexy Stella disrupting the smooth running of his ranch. Especially now when someone is killing his cattle, and a mining company is determined to develop an open pit copper mine on his land.

Can they overcome their tragic pasts and together find the love that will heal their wounded hearts?

Western Contemporary Romance

The Chilcotin Plateau

The Chilcotin Plateau in north central British Columbia is the setting for Healing Hearts. Like the people who inhabit this remote wilderness, the Chilcotin is rugged and challenging. More than three thousand square miles (9, 616 square kilometers) in area, the vast wild grasslands, untouched forests, pristine lakes, and wild, untamed rivers offer stunning views of snow-covered mountains. Few roads cross the wilderness, and transportation is often by horse or small float plane.

This past summer, I flew into the Chilcotin Mountains for a unique, once-in-a-lifetime hiking adventure. The challenging trails were steep and littered with sharp rocks and roots, but the panoramic views of untouched alpine and glacier-covered mountains, clear alpine lakes, and meadows filled with colorful wildflowers was more than worth the effort.

I hope you enjoy reading Healing Hearts and fall in love, like I did, with the unique characters and the spectacular land they call home.
