Terry Dobson was searching through a stack of cookbooks in Hatties Bookshop when the door flew open and her two sons appeared red faced and out of breath.

“MOM!! MOM!! Toby shouted, running up to her, “Santa Claus is frozen in the park!!”

At the counter, two customers turned and stared at the boys and Hattie dropped the book she’d been holding with a thud.

“What on earth are you talking about?” Terry asked, taking Toby by the shoulders.

Andrew caught his breath and said, “We were rolling our center snowball over by the fountain and it got stuck. I dug down in front of it and a black belt came out and then there was a thud and Santa Claus fell out of the snow.” he swallowed and gasp for breath.

Terry turned to Hattie. “Maybe you should call the police?” she squeaked.

Officer Tim Holland opened the Chief’s office door. “Chief, you’re needed at the bookstore ASAP. Some boys were in the park and found Santa Claus.”
