It’s time for Karen’s Killer Fixin’s! Over the years, I’ve filled two 4-inch, 3-ring binders with my own creations as well as recipes my family and friends were willing to share with me. I simply love to cook and want to share that love with my readers. So every Friday, I share one recipe I think you and your family might enjoy. It might be a main course recipe. A cookie or baked item. Candy. Salads. Whatever strikes my eye and fancy…which today is CRAB CAKES!
If you love seafood, crab cakes are always a winner. It rates right up there with clam chowder, and I get both whenever I can. 🙂 When you can make your own crab cakes at home, win win! This is a savory and easy recipe you’re going to love.

CRAB CAKES
[Makes 8 Crab Cakes]
1 lb. crabmeat
1 egg
1 cup finely chopped celery
1 T. mayonnaise
1 T. lemon juice
½ tsp. white pepper
¼ tsp. curry powder
1/8 tsp. ground red pepper
1/8 tsp. mustard powder
2 T. chopped fresh chives
1-2 T. unseasoned dried bread crumbs
3 drops hot-pepper sauce
Mix all ingredients in large bowl and form into 8 patties. Heat patties in medium nonstick skillet over low heat until brown, 4-5 minutes per side. Serve warm.
NOTE: Add a crisp salad and hot bread or rolls and you have a great meal for four people.
