It’s time for Karen’s Killer Fixin’s!
Over the years, I’ve filled two 4-inch, 3-ring binders with my own creations as well as recipes my family and friends were willing to share with me. I simply love to cook and want to share that love with my readers. Every Friday, I share a recipe that I think you and your family might enjoy. It might be a main course recipe from my own kitchen or a guest author’s favorite. It could be a cookie or a baked item. Candy. Salads. Whatever strikes the eye and fancy…which today is DUTCH BABIES from KAREN’S KITCHEN!!
Dutch Babies are sometimes called German Pancakes, but not in our house! This recipe is a family favorite, so easy to make, and versatile depending on how you dress them up. We make a double batch whenever we all get together. There are never any leftovers. Feel in the mood for breakfast for dinner? Go for it!
I hope you enjoy today’s Killer Fixin’s. Happy eating!

DUTCH BABIES
[Makes 4-6 Servings]
[From Karen’s Kitchen]
1/2 stick of butter (1/4 cup)
4 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup flour
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a 9 x 12-inch glass (preferred) dish, melt the butter in the hot oven.
Mix the eggs, milk, and flour well. (We use our blender.)
Pour the egg mixture into the hot, melted-butter dish and bake for 10 minutes.
Lower the heat to 350 degrees for 15 more minutes. Dutch Baby will curl up the sides of the dish as it cooks and lightly browns.
Serve with sprinkled powdered sugar and lemon.*
*Serving directions are for the basic recipe. Personally, I don’t do lemon. You can also skip the powdered sugar and lemon and serve with assorted fruits instead. Put all of the options in the middle of the table so everyone can choose their topping. It’s all good!
**I highly recommend doubling the recipe for a family.
Happy Cooking!
