It’s time for Karen’s Killer Fixin’s! Over the years, I’ve filled two 4-inch, 3-ring binders with my own creations as well as recipes my family and friends were willing to share with me. I simply love to cook and want to share that love with my readers. So every Friday, I share one recipe I think you and your family might enjoy. It might be a main course recipe from my own kitchen or a guest author favorite. It could be a cookie or baked item. Candy. Salads. Whatever strikes the eye and fancy…which today is NEPTUNE INTERNATIONALE from KAREN’S KITCHEN!!
When I went searching through my binder, I came across this wonderful dish that I haven’t made in forever. I’ll have to fix that soon! I love this seafood pasta dish. It’s savory and filled with my favorite seafoods and presented as a casserole, so you know it’s filling. It’s a great recipe for the family dinner or even a BYO buffet party.
I hope you enjoy today’s Killer Fixin’s. Happy eating!
Karen

NEPTUNE INTERNATIONALE
[From Karen’s Kitchen]
[Serves 4-6]
1 (8 oz.) package egg noodles
1 can cream of shrimp soup
1-1/2 cup milk
1/2 lb. cooked, clean shrimp
1 (7-1/2 oz.) can flaked crab
1 can water chestnuts, drained
1 can mushrooms
1/2 cup green pepper (diced)
3 T. onion
1-1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 cup almonds (chopped)
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
Cook noodles. Drain and rinse. Combine soup with milk. Heat. Remove from heat and add shrimp, crab, water chestnuts, mushrooms, green peppers, onion, salt and pepper. Alternate noodles and creamed sauce in layers in greased 2-1/2 quart casserole. Top with almonds and cheese. Cook in 375 degree oven until cheese is melted and toasty, and noodles are bubbly.
NOTE: You can use any cream soup if you prefer. I always add more shrimp and crab than recipe requires because I do love my seafood. I find that green pepper tends to taste bitter, so I use red, orange, or yellow peppers for a sweeter taste.
Happy Eating!
Well that’s easy enough and sounds delicious!
Thanks! 😊
