Blurb
On this deep space pleasure cruise, love is in the recycled air.
Sunastara Jeka is passionate about two things: (1) meeting the needs of the varied species who holiday aboard her interstellar pleasure cruise during the day, and (2) avoiding attachments when the occasional guest meets her needs at night.
Sunny’s life is simple, straightforward, and safe until a former one-night stand becomes her newest crew member.
Freddie has never forgotten that night with Sunny. He’s ecstatic to see her again, until she tells him she never dates her coworkers. Determined not to lose this confident, sexy, hysterical woman again, Freddie bides his time, pursuing a purely professional relationship with Sunny when they’re on the clock, while he slowly charms her senseless after hours.
As Sunny breaks her own rules about workplace romance, her tragic past and a heartbreaking betrayal thrust her orderly life into chaos.
When a hostile species holidays aboard the ship, endangering VIP guests and even the known universe, Sunny and Freddie must decide. Will they let the gravity of their pasts keep them apart, or risk it all for love and fight for their future together?
Content Warning: Prior to the events of this book, the main character lost a child. She continues to process this loss throughout this story.

Praise for Jess K. Hardy’s Love in The Time of Wormholes:
“LOVE IN THE TIME OF WORMHOLES is the perfect blend of clever humor, hotter-than-hot romance, and alien antics! Hardy has delivered a phenomenal read that is quite literally out of this world. Find yourself laughing, crying, and honestly kinda horny through this sci-fi romcom.” -Cate Pearce, author of Traitors of the Black Crown
“Love in the Time of Wormholes is a delightful, fast-paced, and warm-hearted rom-com set on an interstellar pleasure craft. Hardy weaves a dramatic socio-political backstory as we cheer for Sunny’s happy ending with Freddie, a spunky one-night stand that returns as a crew member… A great sci-fi rom-com with funny and unique characters and an engaging story.” – Readers’ Favorite

Excerpt
“Your friend,” he repeated deliberately, looking like he’d nibbled on the word and decided he didn’t much care for its taste. “Such a benign word to describe one of the greatest disappointments of my life.” He stared directly into Sunny’s eyes with a boldness only afforded by a morning spent drinking copious amounts of champagne.
Sunny’s mouth was suddenly dry as a Neptune desert, her heart racing.
Freddie blinked, his eyes growing wide, like he’d just now realized how uncomfortable he’d made her. “Oh, Sunny. Sh*t.” His hand reached across the table for hers. “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. I’m just… I’m hopelessly drunk.”
She sat as gracefully as she could considering her legs wobbled like flicked springs. Carefully, thinking this was probably not a good idea, she took his hand. It was soft and warm and terrifying. She was drawn to him, there was no denying it. But giving in to that pull, letting herself fall into bed with Freddie, it would be like willingly venting herself into space: exhilarating at first, painful later, and ultimately a terrible idea.
She took a shaky breath and squeezed his hand. “It’s fine.”

STRAWBERRY PECAN PRETZEL SALAD
Note from Jess: This is my favorite dessert salad (lol, love the idea of a dessert salad).
What Ingredients Do I Need For Strawberry Pecan Pretzel Salad?
- 1 cup crushed pretzels
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 2 1/2 cups diced strawberries
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 pint cream, whipped
How Do I Make Strawberry Pecan Pretzel Salad?
- In a large bowl, or a baggie, crush 1 cup pretzels. I like to put part of my pretzels in the blender for just a second or two. However, I do not put all of them in, otherwise they tend to get too ground up.
- Then add 1/2 cup chopped pecans, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 1/2 cup melted butter to the pretzels.
- Spread them onto a baking sheet or in a cake pan; spread them out pretty thin.
- Bake in 400 degree oven for 7 minutes.
- When the mixture is done, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool.
- In a separate bowl, whip 1 pint cream.
- When the cream is whipped, add 1/2 cup confectioners sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, mix 8 ounce softened cream cheese with a hand mixer.
- Then stir in the cream mixture, just until mixed.
- Just before serving, stir in 2 1/2 cups diced or sliced strawberries.
- Take the pretzel and pecan mixture and break it into smaller pieces.
- Add it to the salad just before serving.

Have to say I’ve not heard of that variation of the recipe….should be fun to try….
Excerpt and blurb are quite something!
Thanks, Karen and Jess.
Good morning, Jess, and welcome to Karen’s Killer Fixin’s. Your book description and excerpt is intriguing. Can’t say I’ve read anything quite like it. The first thing that popped into my mind, though, was the resort in 5th Element. LOL Should be fun! Loved the recipe, too. I can get into a dessert salad, too, and these ingredients sound like a great combination. Thanks for sharing your book and recipe with us today!
