CHARISMA AND CHARM
A Hexes and Oh’s Book
BY LIZ CAIN
BLURB
Named after a witch goddess, Hecate has been weighed down by the expectations of her family for most of her life. When tragedy strikes she seeks a new life, determined to leave her family and magick behind.
But the allure of her power is too much to bear and working at the bakery run by the local coven is the perfect compromise. Surrounded by good witches Hecate takes those first steps to discovering her true potential away from the dark influence of her family. Hexes and Ohs becomes her sanctuary, one that is sorely needed when her past finally comes to call.
Jason resents having to hunt down the runaway from the Blackwood family but with the promise of his debt finally being repaid, he cannot refuse. Nothing will stop him from returning the rebellious woman and finally being free from the Blackwood influence to move on with his life. Except maybe meeting her.

Excerpt
Reluctantly I hit dial on my cell and braced myself for what would likely be an unpleasant conversation.
“Jason,” Derek snapped. “It’s about time.”
I bit my tongue and didn’t speak. I knew better than to aggravate a Blackwood.
“Have you found her yet?” he asked.
“No,” I said, making sure my tone didn’t convey my annoyance. “I just got into town, it was an eighteen-hour drive.”
“Get going,” he said, and there was a pause. “You know why we need her back here, we are losing influence every day she is gone. She is making us a laughingstock.”
“I know, sir,” I added politely. I looked longingly at the bed once more. “I’m going to head right out to check the local bars. I’ll update you as soon as I have something.”
“See that you do.” He hung up before I could say anymore, which was probably a good thing.
I looked around the quiet room, leaving my car keys and deciding to walk. The sea breeze picked up as I meandered toward the beach, lifting my hair off my face. I ran a hand over my short beard and sighed.
It was so peaceful here. Strangely I felt a connection to the town. Something I had never had with the place I called home.
Seagulls called above me and the sound of the sea soothed me. On impulse I removed my sneakers and socks, smiling at the warmth in the sand even though the sun had set.
A smile tugged at my lips and despite the situation, a part of me longed to stay, even after I had found the girl.
I could imagine myself living in a place like this. The girl was doing me a favor really. Free of my debt, I could choose to settle anywhere I liked.
Yes, I could see myself settling somewhere exactly like this.
Liz Cain is a Nuclear Medicine Physicist by day, and an urban fantasy author by night.
She was born in East Yorkshire in the UK and grew up near the sea with her parents and two sisters. She moved to the midlands, which was much too far south for her, and spent 20 years trying to move back to her hometown.
She has travelled at every opportunity from Thailand and Australia to touring national parks in North America. Liz has done lots of crazy things for charity, including skydiving, running, swimming, and even cutting off her hair. While out on adventures she finds herself weaving intricate tales in her head which one day she had to write down.
Liz has loved reading her whole life, growing up with Anne McCaffrey, Mary Stewart, and Terry Goodkind. Becoming an author happened by chance when she jumped at the opportunity to help a friend tell a story that deserved to be told. It inspired her to follow her lifelong dream and now she is self-publishing her own kickass, no-nonsense FMCs who you’ll love.
