THE COZY MYSTERY PASSPORT
Three Destinations, Three Exclusive Stories
BY R.A. MUTH
Every mystery has clues that never make it into the final story—and every sleuth has a few secrets they’d rather keep tucked away. The same is true for the three novellas in The Cozy Mystery Passport! In this special bonus feature, I sat down with the stars of each novella for a quick chat. From favorite treats and hidden talents to embarrassing moments and dream jobs, these behind-the-scenes interviews offer a fun glimpse into their lives beyond the pages. Grab your favorite cozy drink, settle in, and let’s get to know them a little better!
The Cozy Mystery Passport Q&A
Interview with Juniper from JUNIPER’S COOKIE CAPER
Q: What’s your favorite Christmas cookie?
A: Gingersnap. No, chocolate chip. Wait, it’s sugar cookies with frosting. Ack! I meant snickerdoodle!
Q: What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever found while decorating for Christmas?
A: A crime scene.
Q: Which resident of Christmas Village keeps you on your toes the most?
A: Chief Frost. He always appears when I least expect to see him.
Q: If you weren’t solving mysteries, what would your dream job be?
A: Owning a toy store.
Q: What’s one Christmas tradition you’ll never give up?
A: Hot cocoa in the lodge with Figgy.
Q: Who is the hardest person to buy gifts for?
A: Santa.
Q: What’s your biggest weakness?
A: I have butterfingers when painting wooden toys. Have you seen my sweaters?
Q: What’s one thing readers would be surprised to learn about you?
A: I have a crush on an elf from the South Pole.
Q: What’s your idea of the perfect day off?
A: Reading mysteries by the fire.
Q: If Santa granted you one wish, what would you ask for?
A: Peace on Earth.
Interview with Zip from THE MAGICAL MOCHA LATTE
Q: What’s your favorite coffee drink?
A: Mocha latte.
Q: If you could open your dream coffee shop tomorrow, what would it be called?
A: Magickal Beans.
Q: What inspired your love of coffee?
A: My parents died when I was young, and I grew up with an aunt who let me try it.
Q: What’s the best thing Aunt Corliss ever baked?
A: Literally everything she bakes is the best.
Q: What’s your biggest fear?
A: That animals around the world start talking. I can hardly keep up with the two talking pets I’ve got now.
Q: If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
A: New England might be a nice place to visit.
Q: What’s one thing you can’t leave home without?
A: Travel mug of coffee.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about living in Mockingbird Springs?
A: Community spirit. Whether they’re for or against you, it’s certain that people will show up just to see what’s happening so they don’t have to wait to hear gossip during the next bingo night.
Q: What’s one talent you have that most people don’t know about?
A: I can predict a customer’s order with 86% accuracy.
Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give your younger self?

Interview with Tori and Hazel from THE UNTIDY TROLL

A: Hazel, but she cleans up her own messes.

A: A crime scene.
Q: What’s your biggest pet peeve?
A: Hazel’s police officer brother.
Q: If you had a day with no responsibilities, how would you spend it?
A: At the beach, preferably with iced coffee and donuts filled with beach plum jelly.
Q: Who is more likely to jump to conclusions?
A: Both.
Q: What’s the funniest misunderstanding you’ve ever gotten into?
A: My mother’s bachelorette party was a witchy arts and crafts night.
Q: What’s one thing you admire most about each other?
A: That we treat each other like family.
Q: If you could swap jobs with any other business in town for one day, would you?
A: No.
