A PIRATE’S OBSESSION
Legends Of The Soaring Phoenix, Book 4
BY M.L. GUIDA
Blurb
Losing his hand to a demon means Ronan Macmillian is desperate. He’ll do anything to avoid being a cripple, even sacrifice to the same demon an innocent, beautiful undine.
Angelica knows Ronan is her mate and is determined to show him he’s a warrior, even if he’s maimed. She must forsake the sea life she’s always known, and stay out of the clutches of a clever demon, to win the pirate she loves.
But when Ronan meets the beautiful Angelica, restoring his hand and handing over the undine becomes complicated. If he fails to obey, the demon promises he’ll make him a monster and not even the crew of the Soaring Phoenix will be safe.
Will Ronan betray his honor and his heart and deliver Angelica over to the demon? Or will true love prevail and win Ronan and her life?

Legends Of The Soaring Phoenix, Book 4

M.L. talks about the book…
Thank you, Karen, for inviting me to your blog. Karen was one of my mentors that helped jump my writing career. When I joined Colorado Romance Writers, Karen was president and helped me learn about writing a romance and how to navigate through the world of publishing. She helped me through my lows and my highs. This is why I’m so excited to be on her blog.
A Pirate’s Obsession is the fourth book in the Legends of the Soaring Phoenix, and I’ve been working on it for over a year. It’s based on the myth of the undines. Have your ever heard of an undine?
Undines are elemental beings and live in water. They were first names through the writings of Paracelsus. Undines are usually female and found in fresh water. They do not have tails like mermaids and resemble humans. However, they do not have human souls, so to achieve immortality they had to marry a human and become pregnant. I fell in love with this tale.
When I first wrote the story, Angelica did not have a soul, but both my critique partner (the wonderful Jessica Aspen), and my editor (talented Claire Ashgrove) said Angelica would have to be amoral. The way I wrote Angelica she did possess a soul, so I changed the myth.
In my story, a demon wants Angelica’s and Ronan’s baby to conjure an evil, because the baby possesses powers more powerful than an undine or a vampire. They have to work together and forget temptation in order to defeat the demon.
I also introduce the hero in my next book—A Pirate’s Bane—and this time, instead of being a member of the Soaring Phoenix, he’s actually a pirate on the infamous Fiery Damsel.
Once again, Karen, thank you for having me on your blog, and I’d like to offer a giveaway for your readers. If you comment on this blog and can tell me the name of the demon who wants Angelica’s and Ronan’s baby, you will enter a drawing to win a free e-book copy of A Pirate’s Obsession.
